I’ve run into a frustrating issue with Looker Studio that just started recently. My report loads perfectly in the browser. Data from Google Ads and GA4 populates correctly after selecting accounts in the drop-down controls. However, when I try to download the report as a PDF, I get a blank page. None of the selected accounts appear, the controls themselves are also empty, and no data is displayed in the downloaded version.
The issue only happens during download. Everything looks and works fine when viewing the report in looker studio. As a workaround, I’ve been using Ctrl+P (print to PDF) from the browser, which works, but it’s not ideal for client-ready reports.
Has anyone else run into this? From what I can tell, it seems like the interactive controls (e.g. account selectors) aren’t being respected or processed correctly when the report is exported. I suspect it’s a recent bug, since this wasn’t happening before.
We have a similar issue, we use Google Ads default data connector in many of our reports, and our reports worked perfectly until recently. Now, for example I see on the screen the correct Campaigns listed for the account I selected, what is being downloaded is completely different data. It must be a fairly recent bug, we have several reports with similar data and they ALL have the same issue. One report has been in use for 5 years, made when LookerStudio was DataStudio, and it worked fine until recently.
I have the same problem - reports that have been working for years. Today, the report shows correct data in the browser, but when downloaded as a PDF, the report is empty. Any solution?
Same here - the PDF exports of the reports have been working just fine until recently. We’re also working with the standard Google Ads Connector and the data is shown in Looker. But as soon as the report is exported as PDF, the reports are empty.
I’m Facing the same problem, we could export our reports as pdf with no problem up until 2 weeks ago. I tried everything, We can’t even share it with the link to our clients. Any solutions ?
There is definitely a bug! When I select the account I want to get data from, all shows fine on the browser. When I download as a PDF, it shows data from all of the accounts our company has access to.
I ran into a quirky issue where things wouldn’t display properly if the first element (left to right) was something dynamic, like a date or a data chooser.
The workaround? Make sure the very first thing in the upper-left corner is a text box. Once I moved a static text box (even just labeling it “Google Analytics 4”) to that spot, everything worked fine. I originally had the date there, but shifting things around solved it.
So if you’re seeing layout issues, double-check what’s sitting in that top-left corner—start with a text box, and you’re golden.
Bummer. Hopefully this gets escalated and fixed! Nothing worse than automated reporting breaking down causing extra hours of pdf and screenshot manipulation.
@Rick_E I see you are staff in this forum, how can we get this issue that’s been around for over a month escalated? Causing a lot of extra work for my team outside our regular workflows
Blank report when downloaded or link shared - still persists. I’ve tried everything suggested. Google, can you give us an update? Will this get resolved or do we need to find another reporting solution??
