**URGENT: New Google Workspace admin account is permanently blocked by phone verification after creation**

Hi Google Workspace team,

I created a brand new Google Workspace account for my new business and purchased my domain sebgon.tech.

The admin account was created successfully, but I have never been able to sign in to the Admin Console. Immediately after entering my password, Google says “We detected unusual activity and need to verify it’s you.”

The problem is that every phone number I enter (mine and several family members’) is rejected with the message that there have been too many failed verification attempts. This happens with every number, so I cannot complete verification or access my Workspace account.

Details:

  • Brand new Workspace account.

  • Brand new domain.

  • Never logged into the Admin Console successfully.

  • Waiting more than 6 hours did not remove the block.

  • Tried different phone numbers, browsers, and incognito mode.

How can I recover access to the administrator account or reset this verification block?

Thank you.

Country: Costa Rica.

Here’s the kicker: every time you retry a phone number while that temporary lock is active, the automated timer resets. A 6-hour wait usually isn’t long enough to clear the threshold.

Because you’re the sole admin on a brand new account and haven’t been able to log into the Admin Console to configure backup methods, here are the exact steps to bypass this phone verification loop:

Step 1: Enforce a Full 24–48 Hour “Cooldown”
Stop all sign-in attempts completely for at least 24 to 48 full hours.

  • Do not attempt to log in, test numbers, or open the recovery screen during this window.

  • Every single attempt (even in incognito or on different devices) extends the anti-abuse lock timer back to zero.

Step 2: Use Domain (DNS) Verification via the Admin Recovery Tool
If waiting out the timer doesn’t work, bypass the phone verification step altogether by proving you own the domain via DNS.

  1. Go to the Google Workspace Account Recovery Form.

  2. Enter your domain name (sebgon.tech).

  3. Follow the prompts to verify identity via DNS records.

  4. Google will ask you to log in to your domain registrar (where you bought sebgon.tech) and add a specific TXT or CNAME record.

  5. Once added, Google’s automated backend verifies domain ownership directly, bypassing the broken phone challenge and letting you reset/access the administrator account.

Step 3: Support-Assisted Recovery
If the automated toolbox tool redirects you or fails, use the Support-Assisted Recovery option presented inside the Google Apps Admin Toolbox.

  • Provide an alternate email address (like a standard @gmail.com account) where support can reach you.

  • Reply directly to the automated ticket confirmation email you receive within 48 hours.

Thank you so much for your help and for taking the time to explain this.

I’ve submitted a recovery request through the Google Admin Toolbox, and I’m going to follow your advice and wait without making any more sign-in attempts. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

I really appreciate your guidance. Thanks again!
