Unable to regain admin access after interrupted Google Workspace signup

Hello,

I need help with a Google Workspace domain that appears to be in an inconsistent state.

Here is what happened:

  • I started a Google Workspace signup for my existing .com domain.
  • The first signup completed successfully up to the Trial/Payment selection step.
  • I closed the browser before adding a payment method.
  • Later I could not resume the signup.
  • I used Google Admin Toolbox - Domain in Use Recovery to release the domain.
  • I then attempted a new signup with a different admin account.

Current state:

  • The original admin account it@mydomain.com is reported as “This account was recently deleted and may be recoverable”.
  • When I try to recover it, Google eventually says “Contact your domain admin for help”.
  • The second admin account admin@mydomain.com accepts the password but fails identity verification before any SMS is sent, showing “We couldn’t verify your info”.
  • Google Admin Toolbox previously reported “Your account is suspended” for that account.

I have already tried:

  • Different networks (mobile, residential ISP, Spanish VPS).
  • Different browsers.
  • Different devices.
  • Different phone numbers.

My question:

Could a Product Expert or Google representative please check whether there is still an existing Google Workspace organization associated with this domain and advise how I can regain administrative access to the original organization?

Thank you.

  1. Do not try to log in normally. Instead, use the specialised recovery assistant for Google Workspace administrators who cannot access their console:
  • Go to the Google Workspace Admin Login Issues Form.
  • Select “I get an error message when I try to log in” or “I am having trouble accessing my administrator account.”
  • Fill out the details accurately. You will likely be asked to prove ownership of the domain again by adding a specific TXT or CNAME record to your domain’s DNS settings.
  1. Because you’ve tried multiple devices, browsers, and a VPS, the account behaviour could start to look suspicious. Stop trying to sign up or log in for a full 24 to 48 hours. When you try again after the cooldown, use your primary residential internet connection and a device you normally use.
