Honestly, this has been one of the most disappointing Arcade seasons so far.

Even a beginner can see the imbalance here:

  • Novice & Trooper tiers get T-shirts at 25 & 45 points

  • Champion & Legend tiers get hoodies at 75 & 95 points

  • But Ranger tier students, after grinding 65 points, didn’t receive any wearable or truly practical swag

No bag, no lamp, nothing useful — just stickers, magnets, and badges (hundreds of Google Cloud logos). For students who invest serious time and effort, this feels very low value and honestly discouraging.

This Trooper backpack drop is fair, no issue there — but it raises a bigger question:
Why are participants at 65 and even 75 points still missing out on something as basic and practical as a bag?

Earlier seasons rewarded consistency across every tier. This season feels skewed, where only the topmost tiers get meaningful value, while mid-tier achievers are overlooked.

Many of us are students. Practical swag matters.
Hoping future seasons bring back fair, balanced, and genuinely useful rewards for all tiers — not just the extremes.

See you in the Cloud :cloud:

Dude the main thing about arcade is to learn cloud skills and not collecting swags. The swags are just a byproduct of it, not the main aim. Stop complaining!

Brother, relax. No one here is confused about the purpose of the Arcade.

Yes — the goal is learning cloud skills. Everyone here is already doing that.
But let’s not pretend fairness doesn’t matter.

If swag is “just a byproduct”, then it should be balanced across tiers, not random or skewed. Effort at 65–85 points doesn’t magically become less valuable than effort at 45 or 95.

Also, we’ve already said this clearly:
We don’t need more plastic swag. If anything, give us free certifications or exam vouchers — those are far more valuable for learners and students.

So no, this isn’t “complaining.”
It’s called constructive feedback from people who actually show up, grind, and care about the ecosystem.

Learning comes first.
Fair recognition comes next.

The Arcade swag items — Legend backpack, Cloud DIY logo, tumbler LED lantern, laptop sleeve, hoodie, pen duo, and USB hub — are honestly disappointing.

There is nothing “Legend” about this Legend tier. These items feel generic, common, and not special in any way. There is no uniqueness, no premium value, and nothing memorable that reflects the effort required to reach 95 Legend points.

At this level, students expect useful, high-quality, and distinctive swag. The current items do not justify the achievement or respect the time and dedication students have invested.

At the very least, the Legend tier should feel exclusive and worthwhile. I strongly request the team to rethink the swag selection and maintain the respect and value of students’ efforts.

Please think about this once again.

Why?

@Yugali are you guys even reading the comments at this point let us know if we have to pay to get some swags because there is a limit to disappoint students who were actually expecting something for their hard work and recognition

I genuinely respect and resonate with a lot of what you’ve shared here. The grind, the long hours, the internal motivation, and the personal wins — that pride of moving from Ranger to Champion is something only those who’ve been through the Arcade can truly understand.

You’re absolutely right about one thing:
The real value of Arcade lies in learning.
The free credits, hands-on labs, and exposure to real cloud infrastructure are far more valuable than most people realize. If we calculate the actual cost of those labs, the learning we’ve redeemed is indeed many times higher than the cost of any swag.

At the same time, I feel both thoughts can coexist.

Acknowledging learning as the primary goal doesn’t mean fairness in recognition should be ignored. Swags may be symbolic, but symbols matter — especially when tiers, milestones, and rewards are officially defined and showcased. For many students, those milestones are not about materialism, but about closure and validation after sustained effort.

Most of the feedback you’re seeing isn’t anger for the sake of anger — it’s disappointment coming from people who genuinely showed up, stayed consistent, and expected proportional acknowledgment across tiers. That feeling is human too.

I truly appreciate your perspective of doing things unconditionally and letting life reward us in its own way — that mindset takes maturity and experience. And you’re right: knowledge will pay dividends far beyond this season.

That said, your final wish is perhaps the most important part of your message —
that the #ArcadeTeam hears the community sentiment and considers adding a few more practical, useful swags, especially for higher tiers, so everyone can walk away feeling complete.

Learning was achieved.
Growth happened.
Now a little balance in appreciation would make this season memorable for everyone.

Happy learning, happy arcading — and wishing the best for all of us in the cloud journey ahead :cloud::slightly_smiling_face:
