Problems working with gcp on mobile

For convenience and portability reasons, I’m doing more and more work on my mobile phone. This includes Google cloud platform work. However, I’m having some workflow issues that I’m trying to resolve and curious if anyone has any suggestions for how to optimally do this.

Use case:

Using cloud shell in gcp on a mobile Android chrome

Have a Google fold 10 and can use desktop view, So the viewport is decent

Often working in tandem with Gemini app for researching and then inputting the results

Challenges

Chrome on mobile:

Unable to scroll up through cloud shell history. For some reason this is not working and I haven’t been able to get it working (I’ve also tested this in Firefox with the same problem, so presumably it’s a mobile browser issue)

Can’t copy and paste text in cloud shell terminal. Have to screen grab for reference

Google cloud app:

Can’t voice text into cloud shell. Mic is disabled

Logs me out at any minor diversion to another app or window. Have to log in from scratch with cloud shell. (At least the Chrome on mobile version will log me back in at the same level, for example, in Antigravity

My latest best solution is to use the Google cloud app to be able to see the history of the prompting, and use the split screen in Chrome on the fold, with one side open to to the cloud app and the other open to a word doc for voice typing. I then copy and paste that into the cloud app. However, if I need to reference anything other than the word doc I’m working on, I frequently get logged out trying to make the transition to another app in the window without losing the original cloud shell app on the other side of the screen split.

Any suggestions or tips on how to improve this workflow would be greatly appreciated

I ran into the same wall trying to use Cloud Shell on my phone, especially the copy and paste part, so I stopped trying to do real work there. What I do now is keep phone sessions to quick checks, like looking at a running job or a log, and I paste short commands from a notes app instead of typing them. It is not as smooth as a laptop, but the split screen approach you described is what got me the furthest too.

Thanks Umar. I appreciate your POV on this
