I’ve been locked out of Cloud Shell since Wednesday, October 8th at approximately 5:00 PM Pacific time with this error:
“You have temporarily exceeded a Cloud Shell limit. Upgrade to Cloud Workstations for development environments on Google Cloud without limits.”
It’s now been over 36 hours and I’m still getting the same error. I understand these quotas typically reset after 24 hours, but mine has not.
Details:
- Region: us-central1
- First error: Wednesday 10/8/2025 ~5:00 PM PT
I have important development files in my Cloud Shell home directory that I need to access. My Cloud Run service is still running fine, but I can’t access the terminal to work on my code.
Has anyone else experienced quota limits that don’t reset after 24-48 hours? Is there a way to manually request a quota reset, or should I expect this to eventually clear on its own?
Any help would be appreciated!
