Android Studio Gemini Code Assist using Individual account instead of Standard

Hello!

I am trying to use Gemini Code Assist Standard in Android Studio but when I sign in it seems to be using the individual account. I double checked that I have IAM setup correctly and enabled the correct services according to this: https://cloud.google.com/gemini/docs/discover/set-up-gemini?hl=en.

From my understanding, when signing in Android Studio it should prompt me to “Select a GCP project” but this does not happen. To make sure everything is working correctly I tried this in VSCode and Gemini CLI which both seem to be working. I verified by checking when the Gemini Code Assist Standard license was last used in the console. This does not happen for Android Studio.

Am I doing something wrong or missing some configuration somewhere?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was experiencing the same issue! But then I signed my Google account out, updated my Android Studio to the latest version (Narwhal 2025.1.1 as of this writing), signed back in with my Google account, and eventually got to a window where you could pick the Google Cloud project to use for Gemini Code Assistant Standard/Enterprise.
