The issue I am facing is related to logging into Gemini Code Assist in Visual Studio Code. When I attempt to log in using my personal account, which is not associated with any organization, it asks me to link it to a project on Google Cloud.
I have checked all the services linked to my account and confirmed that it is not associated with any organization. I even tried logging in with a completely different personal account, reinstalling the extension, and attempting to log in through a different browser, but none of these solutions worked. It still assumes that I am using Gemini Standard or Gemini Enterprise. Is there any way to use the individual version and bypass this issue?
When you install Cloud Code, the Gemini Code Assist extension is automatically included because Cloud Code has automatic dependency management enabled. To potentially resolve the login issue with Gemini Code Assist, try customizing the version of the Cloud Code dependencies. Specifically, this involves turning off auto-updates and manually specifying a previous version here (ex. downgrading from version 2.27.0 to 2.26.1). After making these changes, try signing in to Cloud Code again.
