Hello everyone,
I’m looking for guidance regarding a Google Cloud account restriction that has prevented me from creating new Google Cloud projects. I have already submitted an appeal and responded to the Trust & Safety team’s requests, but I haven’t received any further updates.
What happened
I was completing the official Google Codelab:
Zero ETL Data Federation from BigQuery to AlloyDB
As part of the lab, I created the required AlloyDB resources, configured the necessary networking and BigQuery connection, completed the tutorial, and then followed the Cleanup section by deleting all resources immediately after finishing.
Shortly afterward, the project was suspended.
The Trust & Safety team requested additional information, and I explained that:
- The project was used solely for educational purposes.
- I was following the official Google Codelab.
- All resources were deleted according to the tutorial’s cleanup instructions.
I later followed up because the restriction appears to affect my entire account rather than only the suspended project. I am currently unable to create any new Google Cloud projects, even though my account has only a few projects in total.
Current status
- Appeal submitted.
- Additional information provided as requested.
- Follow-up email sent.
- No clarification has been provided regarding the specific policy violation or the current status of the appeal.
My questions
- Has anyone experienced a similar restriction after completing an official Google Codelab?
- Is there any recommended way to request escalation of an existing Trust & Safety appeal?
- Are there any Google Cloud community managers or moderators who could help ensure my appeal reaches the appropriate team for review?
I completely understand that the community cannot review or reverse Trust & Safety decisions. I’m simply looking for guidance on how to move my existing appeal forward, as I would like to continue using Google Cloud for learning and development.
Thank you for any advice or suggestions.
