Is there a way to work around the white background of a view, so that the background image is visible?
If not, that would be a really cool feature.

Not possible. However, in terms of GUI design, it’s not preferable because then you cannot read the text in the detail view at all.

I was thinking about some grade of transparency for the white background 10-20%, so the color change is not so abrupt, and it can give (I believe) a nicer display.
I wasn´t thinking about completely eliminating it, I understand background colors can make it hard to read the text.
