Unable to indicate “zoom area” in “geographic map” widget

When selecting an option in the drop-down it does not stay selected, and the map always shows USA as zoomed in.

Any news on this feature already? Mine is suddenly bugging as well. Old report that had the setting are zoomed appropriately but new dashboard lack the functionality?
