Hi there.
When setting up a geo chart in Looker studio, the chart defaults to United States when choosing ‘City’ as Geo Dimension. When setting ‘Zoom area’ to a specific country (Denmark in this instance) nothing happens and the US map is still displayed.
It seems that Zoom area is not able to save/load the chosen country from the dropdown list.

PS. I’ve tried setting up a country-filter, but that did not work.
I have the same issue, seems to be a problem with Looker studio as the functionality zooms appropriate on old dashboards not on new ones
Same problem here.
When I try to search for a zoom area now, it only shows me the geo dimensions. When I try to search for a state specifically, still only the options in this screenshot apply. I’ve tried every variation of geo dimensions to try and populate the zoom areas, nothing is working. Anyone else experiencing this?
I’m having the same issue. When I copy a previous chart and update the filters to a different campaign it still works for zoom that chart was set to, but it won’t let me zoom when I create a new one…and I can’t change on an existing either. Did you find a fix?
No! 
I spent so much time trying other map types and different variations… Same exact issue, previous reports with the zoom area set are fine, but if I try to make a new report or adjust the zoom area all the options are gone. It must be a glitch on LookerStudio’s end I hope they can correct soon.
