Unable to change CPU GPU type of a VM

Dear all,

I was using a compute engine (VM) with

Configuration 1: T4 GPU and CPU N1-Standard-16 for a high load computation. Later I switched to Configuration 2: no GPU and CPU n2-standard-2. Now, when I intend to revert to Configuration 1: T4 GPU and CPU N1-Standard-16, I get an error “[n2-standard-2, nvidia-tesla-t4] features are not compatible for creating instance.” Infact I am unable to change to any configuration.

How do I figure out, what can go wrong and what are things I can do to restore my work. I am lost with this error. What worked 24 hours is no longer working

This was resolved by first switching to N1-Standard-16, save the instance. Later add 1 GPU to bring to Configuration 1.

This issue was a googly though.
