Student VM coupon redeemed on wrong account - support links broken

Hello,

I am a student and I received a Google Cloud coupon for $50 to set up a VM for my course. I requested the coupon using my official university email (@wisc.edu), but accidentally redeemed it on my personal Google account.

I have spent a significant amount of time trying to contact Google Cloud Support to have the credit transferred or voided. I have followed the official troubleshooting guides and tried to file a support ticket, but I am consistently blocked.

  • When I try to use the billing support links, I get the error message: “This project has no billing account.”

  • All of the links provided to file a ticket or contact support have led to a dead or broken page.

I have exhausted all self-help and official support channels. Could you please help me get this credit moved to my @wisc.edu account or void this current credit and reissue another one? I am unable to use the VM for my course until this is resolved.

You can’t “move” the credit from one account to another, but you can switch the Billing Account used in your school project to the one created from the coupon. Here’s a link for further information on modifying Billing Accounts for a project.
