I’m running into an issue with a Looker Studio dashboard and wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar.
Problem:

When the dashboard loads in its default state, certain scorecards are showing Null
-
However, when I manually select a date range using the date control (even if it matches the default range), the data correctly appears in the scorecards.
Context:
-
The data source is connected to GA4
-
The scorecards are using SUMs
-
A date range control is present on the page
-
Default date range is set Last 28 days
Observed Behavior:

Default dashboard load → missing/blank values
-
After interacting with date filter → values populate correctly
Potential Causes I’m Considering:

Default date range not being applied correctly at load time
-
Data blending or calculated fields not initializing until filter interaction

Cache or refresh timing issues
-
Scorecard-level date range vs page-level date control mismatch
Question:
Has anyone seen this behavior before, and is there a known fix or best practice to ensure the data loads correctly on initial dashboard load?
