Hello @aruotes ,Welcome on Google Cloud Community.
nice to meet you
If you want to be GDE aka Google Developer Expert, you have to be in front of the community and show that you have to know how to share, engage others to spin around Google’s products. Additionally, depends on which category you would like to apply, you have to prove you deep knowledge and expertise around various of topics.
From official docs:
"
Google Developer Experts have a variety of diverse backgrounds. They are developers, founders, mothers, activists, and so much more. The one thing they have in common is that they’re passionate professionals with expertise in Google technology who enjoy continuous learning, sharing knowledge, and making an impact on the community.
Eligibility criteria:
- Solid expertise in an area featuring Google technology such as Android, Google Cloud, Machine Learning, Web and more. You do not need a formal education to be considered for the GDE program.
- Display significant contributions in the developer community including but not limited to speaking at events, publishing content, mentoring other developers and companies.
- Ability to articulate clearly and provide meaningful advice to others.
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Ability to interview and communicate in English as it’s the official language of the program."

Hi @aruotes ,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community!
To answer your question, here is how you can become a Google Developer Expert (GDE):
- Become an Expert in Google Technology: Choose a Google technology you’re passionate about, like Android, Flutter, or Google Cloud. Dive deep into it, building projects and staying current with its latest developments.
- Contribute to the Community: This is the most important part. You need to show that you actively help the developer community. Here’s how:
- Speak Publicly: Give talks and workshops at local meetups and conferences.
- Create Content: Write technical articles, create video tutorials, or contribute to open-source projects. You could even write a book or an online course.
- Help Others: Answer questions in online forums, mentor new developers, or help with training sessions.
- Lead Communities: Consider helping to run a local Google Developer Group (GDG) or similar tech community.- Get a Referral: You’ll need an existing GDE or a Google employee to refer you. To get a referral:
- Network: Attend tech events and connect with GDEs and Googlers online.
- Show Your Work: Make sure your community contributions are easy to see.
- Reach Out: Once you have a strong record of contributions, politely ask a GDE or Googler you know for a referral.
You may refer to this documentation for more information on how to be a GDE.
