Purchased a paid plan but app still blocked - I am going round in circles

I am having a total nightmare - I hope someone can help.

It all started after my emails stopped sending as part of a free account. I didn’t change anything. But then started getting the error that my app definition couldn’t be fetched. And then that my app was blocked and required a plan upgrade.

My app said I had too many users - so I duplicated my app with zero users to test it.
Then I paused the action to send emails.
It said my definition couldn’t be fetched and I need a paid plan.

When I looked into it, it said something like “require user sign in is only available on a paid app” so I disabled user sign in.

Still the same errors and telling me to upgrade.

Then I signed up to the App sheet starter plan - but honestly that’s confusing because it doesn’t tell me which app that will apply to.

I went back to my app and it said “Purchase an AppSheet Publisher Pro subscription to share publicly accessible apps with users without requiring them to sign-in (if you don’t have an Enterprise Plus subscription).”

So on the one hand it tells me user sign in not allowed on a free app. Then tells me I need a pro subscription to not require sign in.

I didn’t see any kind of option that was called a publisher pro subscription either.

I am totally lost, cant get the preview window to load. I could get the app to open and update in browser earlier but not on the phone app. Now I can access any of it without errors.

I hope someone can look at this and help in a step by step kind of way if needed - sometimes replies to posts assume a lot of knowledge and it’s not always easy to follow through.

Also, where is my subscription? I signed up via the link in my app that said you need a subscription. And then said click here to fix it - so I did that and nothing changed, and when I open my account it still gives me the same message saying I need a plan. The only two options were starter and core.

It seems you have to wait until the end of the month for the monthly user count to update, and then your license will allow you to use your app.

Even though I paid for a plan now?
And also, I made an exact duplicate of my app and the user account is zero. I still can’t open it.
Also, surely I should still be able to open it as the creator to be able to work on it shouldn’t I?

Hello @JimandToby,

Let me investigate this and I will come back to you.

It sounds your app was deployed in the Free plan. You can’t do that and it doesn’t have anything to do with the authentication itself. Move your copied app back to Prototype mode and your account should be fine again (if you don’t have more than 10 users from the last 30 days).

I still don’t have this solved. How can they take a payment, and then when it doesn’t work, tell me I can’t speak to anyone about the payment that has been taken?

I am getting the message “How to contact us

Contacting support requires having the Support administrator privilege.”
