I am launching Tarana in a Quiet Zone area. I have authorized my BN on the tower and it is in service. The RN (customer units) are receiving an error stating that they are in quiet zone and do not receive a grant. I have coordinated these RN’s with NRQZ and have the coordination numbers, which I as the CPI in the Google SAS. The NRQZ admin is trying to help but he said after the coordination it is his understanding the SAS should accept them. Is there somewhere he needs to send the coordination numbers to so this will work, or am I missing something here. Thanks
Hello Richard,
Thank you for your message. Based on your description, here’s what you need to know regarding NRQZ coordination and the Google SAS for CBRS deployments:
Issue Summary
-
Your Base Network (BN) is authorized and operational.
-
The Remote Nodes (RNs) are receiving errors stating they are within the Quiet Zone and are not receiving grants.
-
You have coordinated the RNs with NRQZ and obtained coordination numbers.
-
The NRQZ administrator expects the SAS to accept these coordination numbers and grant the necessary spectrum access.
What Needs to Happen Next
-
Submit the NRQZ Coordination to the Google SAS Team
The SAS will not automatically process NRQZ coordination numbers unless they are formally submitted. The NRQZ administrator or your team must send the coordination documentation, including the coordination numbers, to the SAS administrator managing your CBRS deployment.
For Google SAS, the coordination package should be sent to:
spectrum-coordination@google.comInclude the following in the submission:
-
NRQZ coordination letter/report with coordination numbers
-
Details of the affected CBSDs (location, device IDs, frequencies, etc.)
-
Your contact information for follow-up
-
-
Verification and Processing by SAS
Upon receiving the coordination information, the Google SAS team will validate the documentation and update their system accordingly. This process enables the SAS to grant spectrum access to the RNs within the Quiet Zone.
-
Ensure Correct SAS Registration
Verify that your RNs are registered with the correct SAS (Google SAS in this case). If devices are registered with a different SAS, coordination must be submitted to that respective SAS provider.
Additional Recommendations
-
Keep open communication with the NRQZ administrator and share confirmation once the SAS acknowledges receipt.
-
If issues persist after submitting the coordination, reach out to Google SAS support for assistance and status updates.
-
Confirm that your CBSDs’ registration data in the SAS matches the coordination details exactly (location, device IDs, etc.).
If you require assistance drafting the coordination submission or have further questions about the process, please let me know.
