Yeah, that looks like a rendering bug in Looker Studio rather than something you’ve done wrong. A few people have noticed the same issue with legend text being clipped, especially on pie/donut charts. Changing the font size or container width can sometimes fix it temporarily, but as you’ve seen, it usually reverts after refresh.
At the moment, the only reliable workaround is either:
Expanding the chart container slightly so the legend has more room to render, or
Using a smaller font size and saving it that way (though it may still clip on refresh for some users).
It’s likely tied to the way Looker Studio is handling responsive text sizing. I’d recommend filing feedback or opening a support ticket so Google flags it as a bug—until they patch it, workarounds are limited.
This is a rendering issue in Looker Studio that can occur when legend text slightly exceeds the allocated bounding box. It’s not related to your data, but to how the chart component calculates spacing on load. As a workaround, try increasing the legend’s padding or switching the legend position (e.g., top vs. right) to force a recalculation, and avoid exact-fit font sizes. You can also test by slightly widening the chart container to give more space for labels. If it persists, I’d recommend filing a bug via Help > Report a problem in Looker Studio so the team can track and fix the behavior.
please fix this! its so annoying. i can switch it to another font size and it works for some days until its broken again.. Google come on! you can do better!
