Have you tried the Managed Agents API on Agent Platform?

Authors: Danhao Guo, Chitra Venkatesh

The Managed Agents API (in Preview) is a fully managed, configuration-driven service that lets you deploy functional, production-ready agents in seconds. By moving from “managing agent ops” to “defining intent,” developers can now bypass infrastructure overhead and accelerate their time-to-value.

Key Features

  • Zero-Setup Orchestration: Leverage the built-in Antigravity harness for agent reasoning, planning, and task execution out of the box.

  • Secure Linux Sandboxes: Run code safely in on-demand, isolated execution environments.

  • Native Tooling and MCP support: Access built-in server-side Bash execution, Google Search grounding, and file tools. You can also bring your own MCPs.

  • Seamless Data Seeding: Mount Google Cloud Storage (GCS) buckets directly into your sandbox.

  • Configuration-First Control: Manage your agents as first-class cloud resources using a simple RESTful API.

We are rolling out a suite of exciting features including Agent Platform integrations to help you build and scale next-generation agentic workflows.

Thank you for sharing this, Chitra and Danhao! :raising_hands:

The Managed Agents API looks like a significant step forward for agentic development on Google Cloud. The shift from “managing agent ops” to “defining intent” is exactly the kind of developer experience improvement the ecosystem needs — especially for teams looking to move fast without getting bogged down in infrastructure setup.

A few things that stand out as particularly exciting:

  • The Antigravity harness for out-of-the-box orchestration removes a huge barrier for teams new to agentic workflows.
  • Native MCP support combined with the ability to bring your own MCPs strikes a great balance between convenience and flexibility.
  • GCS bucket mounting directly into sandboxes is a thoughtful touch for data-heavy pipelines.

Looking forward to exploring the Colab notebooks and templates to get hands-on. Will definitely be checking out the API reference for deeper integration possibilities.

Great work to the entire team — excited to see where the Agent Platform integrations go from here!
