I want to share an important update for those of you building multi-agent systems on Vertex AI: the native integration of the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol with Vertex AI Agent Engine.
You know that creating systems where multiple AI agents collaborate is often a major engineering challenge, resulting in hard-to-maintain custom code. This new feature is designed to provide a standardized, scalable, and fully managed solution using A2A and Agent Engine.
With this new integration, you can now:
- Build interoperable agents: Adopt the A2A open standard, which functions as a universal API, to ensure your agents can communicate with any other A2A-compliant agent.
- Simplify your architecture: Deploy your entire agent as a single, managed service on Agent Engine, completely eliminating the complexity and overhead of managing separate runtimes and writing “glue code” to connect them.
- Speed up your deployment: Go from local agent code to a secure, scalable, enterprise-grade endpoint with few lines of code, significantly speeding up your deployment to production.
