FYI: Jira ↔ Google Chat integration with in-chat issue actions

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a quick update about a Google Workspace project I recently released.

I’ve been working on integrations around Google Chat, and a few weeks ago I published Zhade Integration for Jira & Google Chat, now live on the Google Workspace Marketplace:
https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/zhade_integration/698600168410

The app is designed for Google Workspace environments.

The main idea is not just sending Jira notifications into Chat, but enabling basic Jira issue management directly inside Google Chat, including:

  • receiving structured issue updates in chat,

  • viewing issue context without leaving the conversation,

  • performing common actions on issues via interactive Chat cards (without opening Jira),

  • syncing specific Jira issues into dedicated Google Chat threads,

  • scheduled JQL-based daily reports (upcoming release)…

From a technical perspective, this involved:

  • building interactive Google Chat cards, dialogs, and action handlers,

  • handling Workspace Marketplace review and approval requirements,

  • working within current Google Chat UI and permission constraints,

  • aligning OAuth and security models across Google Workspace and Jira.

Sharing this mainly as an FYI in case others here are exploring Google Chat bots or Workspace Marketplace apps in similar problem spaces.

Thanks for reading,
Dmytro
