I’m trying to activate the Google Cloud free trial (US$300 credit) and I’m stuck on “Step 2 of 2 - Payment information verification”. The “Contact details” card shows the message “CPF and date of birth are required” and blocks the “Start for free” button with “Add contact details before continuing”.
Clicking “Edit” on the “Contact details” card opens a “Confirm your identity” modal that only shows:
- Profile type: Individual
The modal never loads any CPF or date of birth input fields, and there is no continue/save button - only “Cancel”. I reproduced this in two different browser tabs, including a brand new tab with no cache.
Important: this data is NOT missing from my account - the form simply isn’t reading/displaying it:
- Payments profile ID: (PII Removed by Staff)
-
- CPF: already registered under Payments profile > Tax info, status “Accepted”, submitted months ago, never expires
-
- Date of birth: already set on the Google Account (myaccount.google.com/birthday)
-
- Account type on payments profile: Individual
-
- Country/Region: Brazil (BR)
-
- Name: verified
- I also noticed that trying to access “Billing account management” directly showed a separate message: “Google Cloud access blocked - Since May 13, 2025, Google Cloud has been enforcing 2-Step Verification (2SV/MFA)”. Not sure if related to the identity modal freeze, but noting it for context.
- URL where this happens: console.cloud.google.com/freetrial/signup/billing/BR
- What I’ve already tried:
-
- Testing in a new/incognito tab
-
- Confirming CPF and date of birth are already filled in elsewhere in the account
-
- Checking 2-Step Verification status
- Could someone help me understand why the “Confirm your identity” modal isn’t rendering the input fields for the “Individual” profile type in Brazil, blocking free trial signup completion?
