Domain migration to Google Workspace [Guide]

Hi, since I’m doing a first migration from a cpanel (user email) to google workspace account will try and make a guide/diary so that everyone check in the future.

Current considerations:

  • Migrate the email account using IMAP tool
  • Change TXT DNS on domain

I would also would like to ask for any tips?

Hope you’re keeping well.

For a smooth migration from cPanel to Google Workspace, make sure you first create all user accounts in the Admin console before starting the IMAP migration. Use the Data Migration Service under Admin console > Data migration to connect to your cPanel IMAP server and import mail. Update your domain’s DNS records to point MX to Google’s servers, but keep the old MX records active until migration is complete to avoid mail loss. Also verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC settings in Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Authenticate email to ensure proper email delivery and security after the switch.
