In my report, I’ve had no issues with filtering & data accuracy for the past several months. This morning across all pages of this report, charts are only recognising the end date of the date filter - i.e. in this instance totalling all data available until 30th Sept. It is therefore showing the same numbers for Jan-Sept as for Jul-Sept.
I’ve tried removing and adding/regrouping the filter, refreshing the data source, but to no avail. You can see in the Filter bar, the chain ID filter is being recognised but not the period.
If I select ‘Add filter’ in the Filter bar and add an identical filter to the in-report control, it correctly updates the numbers however this is then a hidden filter which users of the report are not able to edit. This is an important functionality of the report.
I imagine this is a bug. Has anyone experienced this? I’d be grateful for any support.
This behavior sounds like the date filter control is no longer being applied as an interactive filter across your charts, which can happen if the chart’s date field isn’t correctly bound to the control’s data source field. In Looker Studio, open one of the affected charts, check the Date range dimension in the chart’s Data tab, and confirm it matches the field used by your report’s date filter control. If the chart’s date range is set to “Auto” but pulling from a different field, the control will only partially apply. Also try toggling the filter control’s Apply filter to all pages setting and republishing the report, as recent updates can reset filter scope. If the issue persists, capture the report ID and share it via the Looker Studio issue tracker so the team can verify if it’s a regression.
Hi Taz, thanks for getting back so quickly. The date range dimensions are all matching and the charts are set to Auto but only so they can be filtered by users using the control. This was producing all the correct results until last week. I can’t see an ability to toggle ‘Apply filter to all pages’ - where would I find this or have I not set it up correctly? Thanks!
