Data studio download report problem

Hi everyone,

We are facing a strange issue with our Data Studio reports.

  • The Issue: The live dashboard shows all data correctly without any errors. However, whenever I or any of my team members try to download the report (PDF), it throws an error.

  • What we’ve tried: We have already tried reconnecting the data sources, but it didn’t solve the problem.

  • Scope: This is happening for multiple users across the team, so it doesn’t seem like a local browser/cache issue.

Specific Details:

  • Data Source: [Meta ads]

  • Error Message: [System Error Data Studio has encountered a system error]

Has anyone else faced this recently? Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated!

You are far from alone here. This is being reported all over the place, and so far it has been crickets from Google. Several of us on this forum have posted bug reports, but beyond the system response, there seems to be no action on it. Please upvote it, so it hopefully gains more traction.

@JenS Is there an update?

I was able to download 10/10 times from embedded report → right click → download as pdf. After some update in April or May? Around same time as Looker renamed to Data studio, I started crashing everytime I try to download. Im able to download individual pages but never all. Its like theres some type of rate limit and a very hard timeout constraint?
