Anyone else getting hit by this one? I use the search tabs feature on Chrome constantly but when I’m on Looker the same key sequence is used for “Add to Dashboard” and it interrupts my chrome UX. I can’t find anyone else talking about it so maybe it’s just a Chrome on Mac thing or maybe people aren’t as keyboard shortcut heavy as I am?
If this bugs you too - I submitted a feature request for the Looker team to consider changing the key binding:
This shortcut conflict is a known limitation when browser-level hotkeys overlap with web app bindings, and Looker currently doesn’t provide a native way to remap keyboard shortcuts in the UI. On macOS, the only workaround is to override the shortcut in Chrome via System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts or by using a Chrome extension that lets you disable specific key combos on certain domains. Since you’ve already submitted feedback through the Pendo portal, that’s the right channel for product changes, as Looker engineering monitors those requests. In the meantime, using Chrome’s tab search via another shortcut or customizing your OS-level key mappings will avoid the clash without disrupting Looker’s functionality.
