The link config on a text (under “text properties”) has a bug:
selecting “open link in new tab” still opens the link in the same tab

I’m experiencing the exact same issue with hyperlinks in Looker Studio not opening in a new tab, despite the setting being enabled.
This is proving to be a significant disruption to user flow, especially in client-facing dashboards where we want users to stay within the report while accessing external resources. It’s frustrating to see the entire dashboard replaced by the linked content. I’ve observed it primarily with newly added links, while older ones sometimes still behave correctly. It seems inconsistent and definitely a recent regression. Hope to see a fix for this soon, as it greatly impacts the usability and professionalism of our reports.
