[Bug] Conditional formatting - UI jumps/loops

When I change conditional formatting from ALL NUMERIC FIELDS to selection, the settings keep jumping

Makes it impossible to stop unless you remove the rule. It happens to the palette as well and you can see multiple requests:

It even happens when I try to delete a second formatting rule, it comes back to the list all the time

We’re encountering this bug as well! Started yesterday, 1/26

I’m not experiencing this, but after the previous release I had to raise a support ticket around conditional formatting (in that case, I couldn’t independently edit multiple rules i.e. if I tried to tick the ‘Reverse colors’ tickbox for the second rule, the UI would jump up to the tickbox for the first rule, and would not let me tick it).

It was fixed via a patch release, so I suggest you raise a support ticket. It was super annoying while it was broken.

While I was waiting, I did a somewhat laborious workaround:

  1. save the query to a new dashboard
  2. convert the dashboard to a LookML dashboard (i.e. create a new .dashboard file)
  3. go into the IDE, open the .dashboard file and manually edit the LookML
  4. open the dashboard, and click ‘Explore from here’ on the tile to get a properly-functioning viz

We are seeing this too.

We filed a Support Ticket through Looker. Has anyone else done this?

@m_fdata I think all those conditional formatting issues will be resolved in the next release:

I experienced this the other day and it drove me insane. I ended up asking a colleague if they were in dev mode and they confirmed they were. I asked them to get off of it and it fixed the issue for us. My hypothesis is that he was viewing the report in dev mode and there was some sort of conflict. Glad to hear it might be fixed soon.
