AppSheet Performance Issue – Slow Synchronization Recently

Dear Google AppSheet Team,

Over the past two weeks, we – the AppSheet user community in Vietnam – have noticed a significant slowdown in synchronization performance. Previously, my apps typically completed syncing in just 2–3 seconds, but now it often takes 10–12 seconds or more.

I have tested this across multiple apps and accounts, and many members of our community are experiencing the same issue, whether their apps use Google Sheets or Google Cloud as the database.

We are unsure if any recent changes to the AppSheet platform may have affected its stability, but we kindly ask that you investigate and address this issue to restore stable performance.

Thank you for your support and attention.

Best regards,

So far, no response back from Google team since yesterday. (x.x)

Slowness of our apps still continues. To make things worse, there are bunch of errors are happening to some apps which are using MySQL as data source. Definitely there is a glitch in AppSheet server, but unfortunately this error is not seemingly attended by anyone in Google.

I just started having a lot of trouble simply saving an edit. The editor is returning a vague message that it could not save the file, when in fact it did. If I try to continue editing I will start getting version issues. So I have to close the editor and open the app again to load the new version. Sometimes it won’t save at all. Rarely it will actually just save. Started about 2 pm EST on 6/12/2025. I’m out of NYC. My workflow is significantly affected.

I have the same problem.

Well, this looks to have been a massive Google Cloud outage. I was off for a week after posting my original message on the 12th, but I have since seen several articles on the matter.

It’s good to see Google addressing the issue of their reporting. In my previous position, I was working with 365. Microsoft was very good about reporting service outages and issues (of which there were many). This is business. I don’t need a rosy picture. I need to know what is going on. Google needs to be better about reporting.

Hi @Jana_Mandic , @Mike_Procopio

I would like to add my voice to this discussion regarding the ongoing synchronization delays that have been affecting AppSheet users.

Current Issues We’re Experiencing:

Since around June 10th, 2025, we have been experiencing intermittent synchronization delays in AppSheet. Even with small-scale apps, data updates sometimes take over 30 seconds to complete synchronization. More critically, these sync delays are causing server-side processes to get stuck, resulting in Bots failing to trigger as expected, which significantly disrupts our business operations.

Immediate Actions Requested:

  1. Please investigate these synchronization delays urgently and implement fixes as soon as possible if issues are identified.
  2. We need improved incident reporting and communication, as @MichaelGuez has rightly pointed out.

Broader Communication Concerns:

While these sync delays may not be as severe as the frequent server outages we experienced last month, they still constitute a significant incident that impacts real business operations. However, no incidents have been reported on the Google Workspace Status Dashboard regarding these issues. This is problematic.

As mentioned in the following thread (https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Announcements/Resolved-AppSheet-is-down/m-p/916638), the Google team has committed to enhancing the reporting system. We request that Google revise its incident reporting policy to include synchronization delays and similar performance issues on the Google Workspace Status Dashboard. Businesses rely on these status updates to understand service health and plan accordingly.

As @MichaelGuez mentioned, transparency in service communications is crucial for enterprise users. We don’t need “rosy pictures” – we need accurate, timely information about service disruptions so we can manage our systems and inform our stakeholders appropriately.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. We look forward to both immediate resolution of the sync issues and improved incident communication practices.

AppSheet iss downded right now. Huhu. Please resolve asap

Hi, is this happening with all app users? Same happening with other apps as well? What data sources are you using with the app or apps?

Even I am facing the same issue, taking too long for the entries to get synced!! And I am using googlesheets as backend. Facing the same issue with smaller apps and even with larger apps

Would you please contact support, thanks.
