Hi @ieml ,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community!
As of now, Google Cloud SQL does not have an official release note about this. You may check this official document for Cloud SQL release notes for updates.
Thank you
Are there any updates on this? Based on your own documentation, Google Cloud SQL should be supporting new major versions of Postgres within 5 months of general availability. Postgres 15 was released on October 13th, which was 5 months ago yesterday by my counting.
BUMP
Version 15 is scheduled be released in the first half of this year.
Thanks for the update! Any sort of roadmap really helps us plan ahead.
I would suggest that you update your documentation accordingly, or just remove that particular point altogether.
Documentation will be updated once officially announced. Stay Tuned
Hi @ms4446 , plz any news on the Postgres v15 release date to Cloud SQL?
I canāt provide exact date but it will be very soon.
Iām enjoying my weekly visits to this thread.
Same here ![]()
Yep, Iām also a regular.

Nice, thank you! ![]()
Will there be an upgrade path available in the near future? I donāt see an āUpgradeā button in the instance settings like I do in our older Postgres instances.
We have a section in documentation about upgrade major and minor versions.
Here is a link about upgrading major version in place - https://cloud.google.com/sql/docs/postgres/upgrade-major-db-version-inplace
And here how to do it by migration data - https://cloud.google.com/sql/docs/postgres/upgrade-major-db-version-migrate
I hope that help.
Hi
PostgreSQL 16 was released a month ago.
Could you please clarify when it is planned to implement PostgreSQL 16 to the Google Cloud?
Could you please clarify whether there are any assumptions about the timing of the implementation of PostgreSQL 16 in Google Cloud?
