To connect your YouTube channel to Looker Studio using the YouTube native connector and resolve the issue of the channel not appearing as a data source, follow these steps:
Verify Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions on the YouTube channel. Being a manager typically provides access, but confirm that you have full access to the channel’s analytics.
Use the Correct Google Account: Make sure you are logged into Looker Studio with the same Google account that has manager access to the YouTube channel. If you’re using a different email address, the channel won’t appear.
Check YouTube Channel Settings: Go to the YouTube Studio for the channel and verify that the permissions are correctly set up. Sometimes, permissions may need to be adjusted to allow full access.
Clear Browser Cache: Clearing your browser cache can help resolve any temporary issues that might be causing the channel not to show up.
Try Incognito Mode: Open Looker Studio in an incognito window to ensure that no extensions or cached data are affecting the connection.
Reconnect YouTube Connector: If the channel still doesn’t appear, try removing the YouTube connector from Looker Studio and then reconnect it. This may prompt you to reauthorize your account and can help refresh the data sources.
Consult Documentation: Check the Google Cloud documentation for any specific requirements or updates regarding the YouTube connector.
If you’ve gone through these steps and the channel still doesn’t appear, consider reaching out to Google Cloud support for further assistance.
What finally worked for me was to click on Advanced (when my own channels were showing) and then enter the YouTube Channel ID in directly! I am now connected in my Looker Studio!
I’m having the same issues, the channel not showing up. I see you fixed it, but i can’t find the place to add the channel ID directly. Where can i find that option?
