What hardware maximizes compatibility and affordability?

What iPad / tablet should I buy to use AppSheet? I don’t want to spend too much on an iPad, but don’t want to sacrifice functionality of AppSheet?

Hey Viv,

Do you mean just to use the app you build or to create an app?

If you mean just to use the app you build, I believe any semi modern iPad would work just fine for use.

If you are talking about building, I will be honest that I don’t entirely know since I haven’t had to build on a tablet.

I personally would recommend building the app on a computer, but if you must use a tablet to build it, at least get a wireless keyboard and mouse that could Bluetooth connect to your iPad. Would make it so much easier in your building process.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Have a good one!

Hi Cale,

This is great! I do mean just to use the app, I am wondering what the oldest iPad is that I could purchase and not sacrifice functionality when using the already created app.

Thanks,
Vivie

Better to double check if this is true or not with AppSheet team directly, but AppSheet app for iOS is said to be “Requiring iOS 11.0 and more” to run the app.

Check the max iOS version for the Apple devices if each device can run iOS 11 at least. Some old devices can not run vers 11, but lower than that, which should mean such an old devices will not be able to run AppSheet app.
