We have an app we’ve been working on and constantly updating and changing.

We have 5 people in our company that have their own individual apps that only they use, but share all the data with the other 5.

Do I need to purchase a subscription or would this fall under the free category?

Anytime you are using the apps in a work setting, you do need a subscription. In this case, it would be 5 user licenses. Whether it is one app or many apps doesn’t matter. For convenience it may be better to make it the same app.
