(VSCode) 2.30.0 - citations error, infinite looping

Insiders; hot off the presses, Gemini CodeAssist version 2.30.0-insiders.0. For VSCode. Perhaps noteworthy is I use portable, but probably not.

Having a few hiccups. Untitled files referencing the code base are flagging literally individual letters as “referenced code”, causing Gemi to go into absolute fits. Have logs.

I am trying to find a more direct conduit to the GCA team to share logs, etc.

Open to chat if possible; seems to be a major problem with release.

Edit: BTW, GCA team – cool job on the GeminiCodeAssist_Debug_Channel log – getting it to stay at exactly 15k when COMPRESSED! using LZMA2:20. That’s honestly really cool.

In case anyone is curious, I have a pwsh script that extracts VSCode output logs and compresses them, and just this ONE debug log sits stably, unchanging right at :
-a— 3/24/2025 5:36 PM 15000 20250324173651_Gemi230_GeminiCodeAssist_Debug_Channel.log

Size: 149792 (Uncompressed)

Physical Size = 15000
Headers Size = 90
Method = LZMA2:20

Also kudos to the web developer whom allowed just straight up Web Views.

I now have the most views per minute of any post on here.

But seriously, I would be really happy to help with this Gemini issue. It’s an unusual one.
