Viewing two sets of data in one Map view

I would like to be able to display two different geo data sets on a google map in Looker. for example. Location of physical distribution vs website traffic. In the Google Looker GUI there is now way to have two different sets of data displayed on the same map. At least from what I can see…

Does anyone know if there a simple way to do this?

Hi @Domski , thanks for your post!

I’m not certain if I might be oversimplifying, but have you tried blending the datasets together? The How blends work documentation page has more information about how to do that, and what blends let you do in charts.

You might also be able to add a separate metric as a drill down on the Geo map, which is described more in the Set up the chart data section of the Geo chart reference documentation page.

If neither of those options are good solutions, you can absolutely let our team know if there’s a functionality you’d like to see in the product by filing a feature request using the instructions here: https://support.google.com/looker-studio/answer/7340016

Hi Lobo,

thank you for your response. I will go through the documentation and see if I can get it working based on the blended data. I did try this, however, may have not set it up correctly. When I blended the data, I was not able to then see the differentation between the blobs in the Geographic plot - they were the same colour and I could not find a way to change the colours of the two separate datasets.

This is likely the result of me not being fully conversant with the process.

thanks again!
