Vertex AI Platform 429 resource exhausted - how to request an increase in quota

I would be grateful if someone would please describe how to request a quota increase for gemini-1.5-flash-002 in australia-southeast1.

When I go to the Quotas & System Limits page, I am unable to determine which quota I am meant to request an increase for (and for that matter, I cannot see where I am exceeding any quotas).

This error has been occurring for months and is severely impacting the experience of my users.

The 429 Error with Vertex AI will depend if you are using pay-as-you-go service or have purchased Provisioned Throughput, you can understand more about 429 errors by referring to this documentation. You can also try the other suggestions listed there to fix the error.

It’s also possible that you couldn’t see the specific quota being exceeded for gemini-1.5-flash-002 because you are operating under Dynamic shared quota (DSQ).
