Understand CUDs for compute Instances.

Hello Experts.

We have been using GCP for about 2 years and all services are pay-as-you-go. We mostly use cloud compute instance and Cloud SQL, so now we want to save costs and optimize budget so we want to implement Committed Usage Discounts, but I don’t understand , Can you help me clarify the information?

Can I use CUDs for all compute instances running right now? . Currently, we have 1 project and about 10-20 compute instances configured as e2 or n1 machines so can I add all the compute instances running using CUD? Or is it that when we buy committed CUDs, new compute instances (created later) can use CUDs and old compute instances cannot use CUDs?
For example, the average total of all 20 running compute is 120vCPU / 500G ram but most of them are e2, n1, c2 models that are not of the same type, can they use CUDs? As far as I know, no?

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

During your commitment’s term, you automatically start receiving CUDs on eligible resource usage in your project that matches the resource types, machine type, and region specified in your commitment. You continue to receive these CUDs for your eligible resource usage until your commitment expires. You can find additional information here.

You may also consider flexible CUDs if you have different machine types or resources.
