Right now, I’m facing an issue with the delete function of a VPC network.
I’ve removed every services connected to this VPC and an error is displayed when I try to reach my action:
Operation type [delete] failed with message “The network resource ‘projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networks/sesame-vpc’ is already being used by ‘projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networkInstances/v1471235711-b4cd9303-9544-489e-baa6-e013a87b7321’”
Operation type [delete] failed with message “The network resource ‘projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networks/vpc-sesame’ is already being used by ‘projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networkInstances/v1471235711-8529d84c-85a3-4f3b-aaad-6969b448c7ae’”
There is a problem somewhere but I cannot define it.
So, those resources as given below have been deleted. You should now be able to delete the VPC
Operation type [delete] failed with message "The network resource ‘projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networks/sesame-vpc’ is already being used by 'projects/glb-sesame-prod/global/networkInstances/v1471235711-b4cd9303-9544-489e-baa6-e013a87b7321
Hi @munish1 ,

Failed to delete the network. Error: Operation type [delete] failed with message "The network resource ‘projects/[PROJECT_NAME]/global/networks/default’ is already being used by 'projects/[PROJECT_NAME]/global/networkInstances/v35412604-6dc52cac-1778-…
Hi @munish1 ,
thanks a lot. I tried to delete default VPC again and I can confirm it was successful.
Thank you for your support !
Have a nice day,
Jaromir
Has the fix to this rolled out globally? Currently encountering the same error when deleting a vpc:
Operation type [delete] failed with message "The network resource 'projects/***/global/networks/test-vpc' is already being used by 'projects/***/global/networkInstances/v-2125180076-71684ba6-1a70-4626-886d-21f29ecd55fc'"
I have same problems about deleting VPC network via gcloud
ERROR: (gcloud.compute.networks.delete) Could not fetch resource:
The network resource ‘projects//global/networks/dev-vpc-infra’ is already being used by 'projects//global/networkInstances/v-1227917471-6e599fcf-85e5-4941-8dd5-a87f582e1c78’
I think that My GAE default service using that VPC network. Should I fix it?
Operation type [delete] failed with message “The network resource ‘/global/networks/prod-vpc-network’ is already being used by '************/global/firewalls/aet-uscentral1-prod–vpc–connector-tagfw’”

I am unable to delete the VPC at https://console.cloud.google.com/networking/networks/details/keycloak?project=website-232106&hl=zh-tw&pageTab=OVERVIEW due to the error message:
“The network resource ‘projects/website-232106/global/networks/keycloak’ is already being used by ‘projects/website-232106/global/networkInstances/v106699695-17ba9419-f6a5-424e-8771-6fbc862229d4’.”
However, I can’t find any instance with the ID ‘projects/website-232106/global/networkInstances/v106699695-17ba9419-f6a5-424e-8771-6fbc862229d4’. Could you please help me with this?
Have you checked for serverless VPC Access? You need to delete it beforehand. Refer to this documentation for any other resources that needs to be deleted before deleting VPC
