That’s a wrap on Google Skills Arcade 2025!

can we please drop the legos and maybe add the lego notebook or even just the jacket

Very bad,. The previous pens were cool and technical, they were the first swag drops. But now they replaced it with cheap ones. Instead of replacing why not add them also with the older pens. Totally not worth it.

Amazing!!:star_struck:

I fully support this feedback.

The frustration being expressed here isn’t about entitlement or “swag chasing” — it’s about fairness, consistency, and transparency. Learning was never the issue; decision-making around rewards and timelines clearly was.

The most concerning part is not even the pen replacement itself, but when it happened. Any change introduced after the cohort ended and swag drops were declared complete naturally raises questions. Participants made effort and tier decisions based on what was visible during the active window. Post-hoc changes undermine trust, regardless of intent.

The middle tiers — especially Ranger — genuinely feel neglected in terms of effort-to-reward balance, and that gap has been articulated very constructively here, along with practical alternatives and budget-aware

If feedback is being heard, then acknowledging timeline integrity, logical tier progression, and clear policy communication upfront would go a long way in restoring confidence.

This is thoughtful, detailed feedback shared in good faith — and it deserves serious consideration, not just acknowledgment.

How does this work can any one tell me

Thank you, @Yugali ma’am.

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve truly felt that our feedback—no matter how detailed—was at least acknowledged with context and intent. That alone matters, and I appreciate the transparency in explaining the “why” behind the Arcade.

Since feedback is being heard, I’d like to share a few strictly recommended, actionable points that can still improve this cohort experience and future ones—shared with full respect for the team and community.

:one: Fixed or Tentative Timelines (Very Important)

Please consider publishing either:

  • a fixed timeline, or

  • a clearly marked tentative schedule

for:

  • monthly games

  • special games

  • swag drop windows

At least 5 days in advance.
Even a tentative schedule reduces confusion massively—for participants and for the support team. Most frustration this cohort came from uncertainty, not expectations.

:two: Swag Policy Consistency (Pick One, Communicate Clearly)

If swags are still being considered, two clear options would help tremendously:

  • Option A:
Provide one durable, high-quality swag per tier instead of multiple small, low-utility items.

  • Option B:
Clearly state that swags from one cohort will never reappear in the next prize counter.
Upgrades are welcome (e.g., 7-in-1 USB hub → 8-in-1, color/design updates for apparel).
This creates a positive perception and restores excitement around progression.

:three: Honest Feedback on Utility (From Ground Reality)

Some items need reconsideration purely from daily usability:

  • Stickers → genuinely useful (they showcase journeys)

  • 450+ plastic LEGO logo pieces → strongly disliked
We felt like we were assembling logos instead of building careers

  • Magnetic badges & pins → low daily value

  • Laptop sleeve → good design, but without hard edges it’s essentially thin cloth

  • Legend vacuum cleaner → unfortunately ineffective for keyboards

  • Legend cloud bulb → less usable than the Trooper fold & glow lamp

  • USB hub → useful, but an 8-in-1 upgrade costs ~₹100 less in market pricing

  • Pens → usable, but non-refillable pens feel wasteful

These points aren’t emotional reactions—they’re consistent patterns of feedback across communities.

:four: Learning Quality: Badge Repetition

From November onward, many badges felt repetitive with reshuffled labs.
Some repetition is understandable—but not entire badges month after month.
Skill-focused, fresh labs add far more value than repeated structures.

:five: The Unspoken Reality from the Community

I actively engage with large learner communities—multiple WhatsApp groups (2200–2500+ members ), LinkedIn, Telegram, and YouTube audiences.

The sentiment is consistent:

  • Ranger & Champion participants feel the most disappointed

  • Many openly say:
“If 45 points (Trooper) gives better satisfaction, why push further?”

Objectively speaking, Trooper tier felt the most balanced in both 2025 cohorts—in terms of effort vs reward.

This message comes with no hostility and no further expectations.
This will be my final feedback to the team.

The Arcade remains a program people can trust for learning—especially as a revision and practice platform—but skill badges and fresh labs matter more than repeated cycles.

I genuinely hope future cohorts bring:

  • clearer timelines

  • better reward consistency

  • and stronger respect for participant effort across all tiers

Wishing the entire Arcade team, community managers, and staff a Happy New Year 2026.
Hoping to see a stronger, clearer, and more balanced Arcade ahead.

See you in the Cloud. :cloud:

Hello everyone !! I am Jatin

I am new here.

I am very delighted to be a part of Google Cloud Skill Boost

Hi everyone,

I recently came across Google Cloud Arcade on the Cloud Skills Boost platform and wanted to understand how it works in practice.

From what I see, Arcade involves completing hands-on labs and skill badges, but I’m a bit unclear on how points are calculated, which labs are eligible, and how these points translate into rewards or swag.

If anyone has participated in an Arcade season before, I’d really appreciate insights on:

  • How to efficiently earn Arcade points
  • Common mistakes to avoid
  • How and when rewards are usually redeemed

Thanks in advance for your help!
