Text in xlsx-templait

Hi!

Is it possible to add text in xlsx attachments after the expression <>…<>?

You can add whatever you want as long as understand that it’s going to be replicated X number of times based on the rows inside your Start expression as well that you are just using it to export data on a range and not some printable mess:

Use Microsoft Excel templates - AppSheet Help

Try it and find out. If it doesn’t work, it’s not allowed.

Hi.
I tried this and came across different artifacts. That’s why I decided to find out as much as possible. It seems logical to me to be able to add text after a kind of “cycle”.
Probably should make a suggestion to introduce such a possibility

Please post the actual expression/template and we will tell you right away if you can or not

Ok, so no. Afaik, you can’t add anything at the bottom of the produced list of values from an Start: expression.
If I understand correctly, Start: on XLSX files doesn’t “Insert” rows, it just uses the blank ones from the bottom part of the template, so it should basically override anything, you could test this.

Also understand that XLSX templates are not meant for reporting or (less likely) printing, it’s just a way to export data

Okay, thanks for the explanation.
It is a pity that xlsx is not provided as a format for reports, because there are often situations when a spreadsheet format is more useful and convenient.

I mean, you can still send reports using XLSX but most people mistakenly use it as a printable one.
For example, you can use a XLSX workbook with multiple worhsheets and each one with a different level of information like:
Sheet 1: Summary of everything
Sheet 2: A little deeper
Sheet 3: All the info

Thank you, I understood you correctly at the very beginning. In my task for the company, xlsx is the most convenient option for printing and editing. The company requires it in this format, but this is not a critical inconvenience
