Text Direction Issue in Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) - Help Needed

Hello everyone,

I’ve encountered an issue in Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) where the text on a button appears to be reversed (RTL direction) while working in the platform, even though it’s displaying correctly in other applications.

I’ve already checked the following:

  • Font settings: Tried using standard fonts like Arial and Helvetica, but the issue persists.

  • Locale and language settings: Ensured the locale is set to Indonesia/English (US), but the problem still occurs.

  • Data source: Verified that there are no unusual characters affecting the text.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, could you share how you resolved it?

Additionally, any insights on:

  • How Looker Studio handles text alignment and RTL/LTR settings

  • Possible bugs or cache-related issues causing this

  • Other troubleshooting tips for fixing text display issues

This issue is known! I think you’ve already seen the main post. We are working on a fix. In the meantime, the workaround I’ve been using is to write the button text elsewhere and then copy/paste it in.
