I found a project in my Google Cloud account that I didn’t create. I don’t know where it came from, and I don’t have any permissions for it, so I can’t delete it.
check the list of editors and viewers for google groups (@googlegroups.com), and check if you’re a member of any of those groups. You just have to remove yourself from the groups.
As per OP: Apparently they showed up because of my account’s Google Groups subscriptions. I removed myself from all groups and the projects disappeared. I wasn’t the only one with problems removing myself from projects, as we can see on this issue and this issue, opened in Google’s issue tracker.
I exited all the groups I was a part of, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I still see the unknown project listed among my projects.
One detail I noticed is that on the “Billing account management” page, under the “Your projects“ tab, this project is associated with billing account named “Gemini Code Assist Global 2“. It’s possible that any AI Agent created it or added me to it. This raises the question of how to identify which AI product might have been responsible for this action and how to dismiss or remove the project.
Another frustrating issue is that I’m unable to contact Support. The Support Portal displays the following notification: “Creating cases for the selected project is not available with your current support plan“.
However, my issue seems too basic to justify upgrading to a paid support plan. How can I get any basic support from the Google Cloud team?
Dear Roman_Kalita , FYI Cloud Support has to entertain long long long long long list of issues in the real World , so it will be easier for you to just delete that account , go start to another and more project instead of wasting your time to that ;]
Might as well start some series of ✧✧✧ Strange Project ✧✧ already with Gemini
