Strange Behavior of Pivot Table

I created a pivot table in a new report at the end of January.
The data source is a blend of MySQL and spreadsheets.
In edit mode, the pivot table displays correctly, and it continues to display if I switch to view mode.
However, when someone else tries to view the report, it shows a “System Error” and does not display.
Furthermore, even if I try to reload the page, it results in the same “System Error.”

Sometimes, deleting and re-adding dimensions can make it display again, but it might easily trigger a system error soon after.
Even without updating the data, simply expanding a section can cause this error.

Additionally, there are other strange behaviors:

  • Every time I add a dimension, the sort order settings reset, and I have to set them again.
  • Changes to field display names do not get reflected. Even if they do, they sometimes revert to the original names after a while.

What could be causing these issues? With no details about the system error, I don’t know how to address this.

This is not only MySQL case. The same happens for BigQuery based dashboards.

It is critical, as it makes many dashboard useless.

I encountered this error a few years ago and ended up removing the pivot table functionality from my report

I’ve been having the exact same problem as the thread starter since the middle of last week. A previously working Privot table now shows a “system error” and the problem occurs in all other reports with different data sources (mainly BigQuery and Google Sheets).
Eventually, after I hit the refresh button, the table chart works again, at least until I refresh again, which is probably due to the Canary deployment?!

Thanks for solving the problem as soon as possible :slightly_smiling_face:
