I am part of the Google Cloud startup program and currently have some startup credits. I am using Vertex AI to run large language models for my project, specifically Anthropic’s Claude models (Opus and Sonnet).
Despite having startup credits, I am being billed separately for using the Claude models through Vertex AI, resulting in heavy costs. I have seen similar questions in the community where the response indicated that using these models “might incur some cost,” but the details were unclear.
Could you please clarify:
- Are Anthropic’s Claude models covered under the GCP startup credits program?
- If not, are there any recommendations for managing the costs associated with using these models on Vertex AI through startup credits?
A clear and detailed response would be very helpful to manage my project budget effectively.
