Hello Community!

Since March 21st 2025, all e-mail reports sent, don’t show the PDF as a embedded image on mail body.

Until March 20nd 2025 the e-mail report received came with a .JPG file of the PDF report and it showed embedded on the message, facilitating the visualization, specially on mobile devices.

Working as intended. Since latest updates a preview of the report will be added to emails only for looker Studio Pro reports.

Thanks Arkady, so only Looker Studio Pro will have the preview on the e-mail reports, is that correct?

It was working for everyone and stopped to work in March?

what should Non-pro do now?

To be honest this is not fair, we ought to have been notified before the updates, to enables to make adjustments on the mail subjects or any other thing.

What a bait-and-switch move on Google’s part. Realizing that “free” functionality suddenly moves behind a paywall without proper communication is awful. Imagine spending millions on Google Workspace and Google Cloud only to be nickel-and-dimed by Looker.

This is such a poor business practice for several reasons.

  • It breaks user trust by changing the terms of the service without clear notification.
  • It creates frustration for long-term users who have come to rely on those features.
  • It damages brand reputation, especially when users discover the change by searching obscure forums.

Having to search forums to discover these changes suggests deliberate avoidance of clear communication, which compounds the negative impression.
