Show / Hide graph depending on filter

Hello,

I am looking to hide a simple column chart whenever the filter in that page is not being used. In other words, I want that specific graph to show only when at least one of the boxes in the drop-down filter is used.
Looker Studio, free version.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

So this is a multi-select filter? What would your default filter selection be? All boxes checked? Just one?

Hi there,

I’m a product manager on Looker Studio and would like to learn more about your use case. Let me know if you’re open to a chat and I’ll set up time!

I also have several use cases for this feature idea. It would be super helpful for the dynamic executive reporting that I work on in my organization. I would love to share thoughts on this as well, Amanda.

I’m also looking for insight into this design pattern

Something similar to what you can achieve on Tableau using a button to hide/show a container?

I also very much want this feature, just adding my voice in case it is something you are considering as a future addition.

In Sept 2025, we are planing to preview the feature which will allow editors to control chart and page visibility for users based on

  1. Static values defined in variable
  2. Google Group membership
  3. Query results

We will post details shortly.
