I recently came across, what I believe to be, a data retention problem - Has anyone here experianced similar issues? (decription below)
Issue:
“No data” on year-over-year comparisons**
Comparing Q1 2026 to Q1 2025 shows “No data” for New Users, and Key events in Data Studio, even though the data is visible in GA4. We suspect this is the 14-month data retention limit — but why is it visible in GA4 and not in Data Studio? API limitations possibly?
When changing dates past Q1 2025 (April/May 2025 etc) data appears again.
Is this a known connector limitation — thresholding, sampling, or date handling? We’re considering BigQuery export as a fix but want to understand the root cause first.
