Primary View Sort is... Counter-Intuitive

Is it me, or is it strange that the “Right Most” view is in the (Left Most) position?

  • To me, it makes intuitive sense for the right-most to be at the far right of the list (even if this is on another line), and the left-most to be the first one (at the top).

In the image above, things are literally backwards to how I’m thinking they would be.

  • The “Welcome” page is set to the Left-Most position;
    • yet because it’s name starts with W, it sits at the end of the list (in the right-most position - in my mind)
  • The “All_Entries” view is set to be the Right Most, yet it’s at the left most.

What do you think?

  • Alphabetical makes sense to me (leave as is)
  • Sort-order makes sense to me (change to chosen position)

My 2 cents. I think AppSheet recently started showing an alphabetical list for all elements - tables, slices, actions ( of course slices and actions are first sorted by their parent elements - tables)

But if primary views are shown in the order of their position, it may be argued to extend this visual order to menu views and then further to actions, tables, slices associated with those views. This in turn will not be very intuitive as the app creator may not take a look at tables and other elements based just on visual order.

So all in all, the alphabetical order makes sense in my humble opinion, if viewed from a holistic angle. It has made searching an element much easier/ predictable, especially where the number of those elements is large in an app.
