Opacitiy 10%

Hello,

Do you also know that since today, text opacity can only be set to a minimum of 10% instead of 0?

I’ve noticed this because all my hidden links for creating dynamic buttons appear faint because they’re now adjusted to 10% and this is quite problematic for an obvious UX and UI reason as well as user experience for my client,

i hope that’s just a temporary bug.

I am also having this exact issue! I use 0% opacity links for my buttons and now the 10% change makes it look ridiculous. I can’t find any documentation from Google or Looker Studio on this update. I hope this was a mistake and it can be reverted to 0%. Would be nice to understand why this happened, and whether it was an accident or an intentional update.

It’s true that we have 0 info but I think it’s a bug on their side. it went back to normal for a few minutes and then the 10% came back.

Hello,

Do you have some news ? because it still here.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Rick_E ,
Any updates on this? It is month end next week and we will need to send out our reports and we can’t if they look the way that they currently do.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a quick update here, since I’ve been in direct contact with the Looker Studio product team regarding the recent change that limits text opacity to a minimum of 10%.

This update unexpectedly impacted many dashboards where we’ve been using 0% opacity text as part of custom navigation menus — a method that allowed for native-looking UI elements by hiding navigation links until triggered. After reporting the issue and sharing examples, I’ve received confirmation from the product team that they will be re-enabling 0% text opacity soon, so this behavior should be restored.

They were responsive and helpful throughout the process. I also highlighted some related bugs — including persistent image replacement issues — and they’ve opened internal tickets to review those as well.

For anyone else affected by the opacity change, it looks like a fix is already in motion.

Best,

Isaac Correa
